BIOGRAPHY
MISAKI MORINO is a Vienna-based soprano acclaimed for her pure, luminous voice and her versatility across Baroque, Classical, and Contemporary repertoire. She is increasingly recognized as a distinctive artist in both traditional and modern opera, as well as in German Lied.
Recent highlights include Gepopo in Ligeti’s Le Grand Macabre with the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra under Jonathan Nott. She has appeared at leading European and Asian institutions, including Luzerner Theater, Neue Oper Wien, Grand Théâtre de Genève, Steirischer Herbst, New National Theatre Tokyo, and National Taichung Theater.
As a concert soloist, she has collaborated with orchestras such as the NHK Symphony Orchestra Tokyo and the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. Her repertoire includes Mahler’s Second and Eighth Symphonies, Mozart’s sacred works, and a wide range of soprano solos in masses and motets. Her Lied recitals with Helmut Deutsch have been broadcast.
Alongside her performing career, she develops her own artistic voice through writing poetry and texts, which inform her interpretative approach to music.
Misaki Morino graduated with distinction from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. She is the recipient of the First Prize at the International Brahms Competition and the First Prize at the Japan Music Competition.
